Knowbury WI meets in the Knowbury Memorial hall

on the second Thursday of each month at 7.30pm

members

Currently the W.I.has 29 members and always gives a warm welcome to new members.  Forget about Jam & Jerusalem and come along and see for yourself what the WI in Knowbury is all about in the 21st century.

This year there is an excellent programme of speakers and outings lined up for 2012 - why not join us?

The members of Knowb ury WI started March with many of the members meeting up for the annual dinner held at the Queen's in Ludlow.  We all enljoyed an excellent meal in a friendly atmosphere and our thanks go to Jane and Tim who hosted us.

The meeting of the month held on March 8th was a special occasion as we had invited partners and friends to hear a talk on Crime Scene Forensics given by Geoffrey Daniels.  He is a former Detective Police Officer, who had worked for many years in Forensics, and was still involved in police work, including cold cases.  He h ad brought in many interesting items to show us and kept us engrossed in scenarios from his many cases over the years.  No fingerprints or DNA  samples were taken, at least, I don't think so, but we all finished the evening a little more knowledgeable.

The vote of thanks was given by Topsy and then a larger gathering than usual partook of the lovely supper provided by Thyrle and Carol.

Our next meeting will be on April 12th when Kate Cadman, a former employee at the Coalport Factory, will give us a talk on Porcelain Flower Posies.  Some of the members attended a craft morning in the village on the 24th March to learn how to make Fascinators!!  Look at the photo page to see them "fascinating".  Didn't they do well?
